This painting is inspired by a Memorial Day weekend beach day I spent on 43rd. St in Virginia Beach, VA. The clouds were perfect and the gulls were enjoying the scraps from tourists.

This piece is the most surreal out of my landscapes. The stylized clouds and vegetation add mysticism to the landscape. By using cadmium orange for the under painting, I was able to achieve an extreme, fire like level of vibrancy.

This is the first piece of my geometric cloud series. It was inspired by a summer beach day. I love the harshness of the geometric line against the impressionistic landscape. I intensified the tension between both through my use of color contrast.

Inspired by many drives I have taken, the painting gives me a sense of freedom as I imagine driving off into the sunset along an endless country road.
